10 Paradigm Festival 2024 tips from our bookers

When curating our musical program, we aim to blend established names, emerging talent, and local artists. Our goal is to create a boutique atmosphere that encourages our audience to embrace the unexpected—such as through unique back-to-back sets. We’re excited about the Paradigm Festival lineup and have asked our bookers, Tom and Chris, to share 10 tips for Paradigm Festival.

Luke Slater (Saturday – Basement)
Luke Slater is a living legend who has been releasing music for over 30 years under various aliases such as Planetary Assault Systems, L.B. Dub Corp, and, of course, Luke Slater. His collaborations, including RoogUnit and LSD, embody his diversity and creativity. Luke’s Mote-Evolver label has represented spot-on techno for two decades, evolving with the times while remaining loyal to its roots. With an unwavering high energy, he quickly immerses you in a pulsating dance floor experience. Without a doubt, he has been one of the key influencers in the scene for many years.

Marie Davidson (Saturday – Dome)
This Grammy-nominated artist and producer is renowned for her high-energy and eclectic DJ sets. On Saturday evening, Marie Davidson will close the Dome with her unique style, marking her only performance in the Netherlands this summer. Big tip!

Akua b2b Hyperkativist (Saturday – Main)
We’re excited for this world premiere as Akua and Hyperkativist join forces to close the Main on Saturday. Akua, a Ghanaian-American DJ, draws inspiration from the Detroit, NYC, and Chicago sounds. Her no-nonsense mixing style has made a global impact, showcasing her deep love for North American techno. This will be her first time teaming up with Hyperkativist, who has electrified the Berlin scene and beyond with her high-energy sets that fuse fast-paced techno and house with a strong 90s and old-school influence. This b2b will be definitely one for the books.

Funk Assault (Sunday – LLAB)
They might be the most talked-about “new kids on the block.” While you can find Alarico performing solo on Saturdays and Chlär solo on Sundays during the day, together as Funk Assault, they will expertly close the festival’s afterparty on Sunday night. With 6 decks and 2 mixers, they deliver the perfect fusion of hard grooves, tribal rhythms, and gritty sounds in a highly energetic form. Closing Paradigm Festival with techno that cuts to the bone is exactly what you can expect.

GiGi FM (Saturday – Romney)
GiGi FM is a multidisciplinary artist, DJ, dancer, and music producer. She describes her music as “magnetic, kinetic techno designed for dancing, inspired by the art of movement.” Her sets are strikingly diverse, designed to plunge you into a state of exhilaration. With a blend of heavy techno, deep bass, and ambient textures, GiGi FM creates an immersive experience that transports you into a trance, where dancing becomes a way to connect with her unique musical world. Her latest release, GiGi FM – Movimiento, perfectly illustrates her distinctive approach to techno and how it can completely engage and captivate you.

With releases on labels such as Kalahari Oyster Cult, Butter Sessions, Maricas, Planet Euphorique, and her own Step Ball Chain, Roza’s music has captivated dance floors worldwide. As a masterful producer and skillful DJ, she stands out as a leading name in modern uptempo electro house. Roza will be closing the Forest stage on Sunday. Don’t miss out!

One of LA’s best-kept secrets is bringing the Detroit Party Train to Groningen. D.I.E. delivers old-school techno, electro, and acid with an unique turntablist style of mixing.

Since his releases on the industrial label Strength Records in the early 90s, his iconic presence has become indispensable. For years, he has been on the wishlist of Convoi Exceptionnel. He is considered one of France’s most crucial exports of hardcore techno and is renowned for his dark, intense selections and skilled turntable techniques. Manu is a unique artist who has captivated dance floors and festivals in clubs around the world and continues to push boundaries.
